Chalice Lighting

As we kindle this spark inside this chalice,
Symbol of our faith community,
To rest among us as we worship together,
Notice the spark inside yourself,
Symbol of spirit and energy and life.
You are the fire; every one of us is the flame.
Notice also how we are gathered,
As a community containing the fires of many souls.
Together we are the chalice.
May the light of our flame lead us deeper and truer in our searching.
May the chalice of our community hold us all in care and trust.
